Capital gains on Roth in Austria
I am American getting ready to move to Austria for a three year position. I have a about $250k in traditional IRA and $55k in a Roth. I also have about $100k in mutual funds and $10k in gold. Is it true that even if I don’t access that money, I’ll still get taxed at 27.5% on all capital gains while I’m in Austria. Does anyone know? I know most other EU countries don’t do this but I cannot get a straight answer on this. Do I need to convert the money to direct index funds? Thank you.
