Should the resource cost of all EGO be (roughly) halved?
Something I've noticed, in general, is that players don't really use EGO in many cases, or failing that, just go with Ol' Reliable Superbia Fluid Sac. Furthermore, a lot of the game's fights aren't really long enough to actually build up the high end ones.
There are a few outliers, such as Sanguine Desire Rodion, but these days we aren't even really seeing much discussion about the use of Rime Shank Rodion. Even with the current Railway being an extremely long meatgrinder, most of what we've seen come out of it is just Thoracalgia Faust. There hasn't really been any discussion of Overclock EGO.
Many of the features once limited to EGO have now become baseline parts of IDs. Back on launch, Legerdemain was so valuable because it was a 4 cost 3 weight EGO, letting you kill one target and splash damage to another. Rime Shank was incredibly valuable because it was how you built a Sinking stack. Now AoE is becoming more common and many EGO are just ignored because they are expensive and eat sanity for an effect that you already have and no longer clashes higher than your base kit.
Thus the question. Should the cost to activate them in resources just be halved? Would you activate Representation Emitter... like, at all, if it was 3 instead of 6 resources? Some can stay as they are. We all know Chains of Others Meursault is good by now, but would you use Snagharpoon for 2? What about Garden of Thorns Gregor if it was just one of each?
Would halved costs make you seriously consider using EGO?
