Good replacement for the Tetra?

I prefer laser shooting, star wars esque rifles(not the beam weapons), that's why I like the Tetra, but after like level 20ish enemies this thing SUCKS, and everyone has said it's a horrible weapon. What is a good replacement rifle for it that shoots lasers that's available at MR9? I've also only reached Second Dream btw in the story. Thx!
