man, what are these cutoffs
Thought I had mech bagged at 160XX rank, if not by round 1 then confidently by round 2. Turns out cutoff went from 17k to 11k. Don't even know if I'll get in by last round anymore.
Anyone got any idea why all non-cse cutoffs got so inflated this year? Did they remove seats from core? Competition doesn't usually increase this much for a branch in just 1 year and only in 1 college. What's causing this glorious, horrifying, absolutely bamboozling inflation. No way chem went to 13k. No way civil is at 15k. My only guess is most people put a lot of preferences this year, and got around their last few preferences, which probably means seats will clear out since they'll move to other colleges for their preferred branch, but I got no hopes tbh. Accepted my fate.
I can't sleep anymore. Like, dear lord, the situation is bad. Is our batch just super screwed? What didn't go wrong this year? CBSE, BITS, Advanced, Manipal, VIT, it just goes on and on.
I sent my CBSE marksheet for re eval since I noticed the correction was wrong in a few questions across most subjects. Marks will increase but I guess by then counselling will be over. This system genuinely sucks. If they corrected properly I'd likely be at around 10k rank rn.
Thoughts and prayers to fellow 16k rankers hoping for mech, we're lowkey gone. Or thoughts and prayers to anyone that got screwed by one exam or another this year, really. Good luck out there.
