A couple of times on this sub, I’ve seen people joke that her breeding program’s family tree is a wreath. I’m the type of person who really benefits from seeing this type of thing on paper. One thing about me is if I’m gonna be a hater, I’m gonna make sure I’m an informed one lol.

I really like how Ginger is related to all of the program’s established and up and coming reproducers (code red, Denver, Trudy, Beyoncé, Kennedy, Rikki).
Her baby with her uncle-nephew Denver would probably have hemophilia 😍. Cutesy!

Not to be grim, but does anyone else think it a bit notable how Denver’s foals with Happy and Trudy (via Charlotte) were lost? They are his mother’s cousins. I know Annie is Kennedy’s cousin too, and she delivered a healthy, fully developed foal. But a success rate of 1 out of 3 for these Hapsburgian antics seems pretty biologically plausible.

Ultimately, I am so confused over why she has Denver in her breeding program. His sire is already closely related to many of her main breeding mares. And now Denver brings in genetic ties to Beyoncé and Rikki. I know that after a certain degree of genetic separation, breeding two horses with shared ancestors is considered safe and not direct inbreeding. I’m also fully aware that I’m equating human familial terminology to horse breeding lol. I just come from a culture where endlessly reproducing within the same gene pool is generally frowned upon and considered to be not a good idea.
