Is it ok to be friends with a female while she is in a relationship?
have this female friend whom I met online; we became best friends in a short time, but now she is in a relationship, and I feel like we can’t be friends anymore since this would be disrespectful to her man. To be clear, we are only online friends who met through a game; we have never met each other, we live on different continents, and we have never seen each other's faces. Also, I have never been attracted to her since the age gap between us (she is 2 years older than me). Also, I even helped her to get in the relationship she is currently in.
At the beginning, I didn’t really think much of it, but at some point, like 2-3 weeks ago, when I was in the talking stage with another girl, she said, “Since now we both have our things, do you think your girl will let us be friends, since I think my man is not having it?” She also said he told her in the future that it isn’t right to have close male friends. I thought about ending our friendship, but she said we shouldn’t since we are almost like family now; we share our daily lives and rent and everything else like siblings.
I don’t know what to do; I don’t want to lose her, but also I don’t want to be disrespectful to her man and possibly be a reason their relationship ends.
