SAP consultants who moved into product management — how did the transition go and what skills mattered most?

I've been an SAP functional consultant for about 5 years and I'm starting to think about moving into product management. The skills feel related but different enough that I'm not sure how to position myself. Has anyone here made this transition from SAP consulting to product management? What helped the most?
