So I saw The Last Act in theaters. My thoughts? [SPOILERS]
I LOVED IT!!!! THANK YOU GOOSEWORX FOR EVERYTHING!!!!
The ending takes "There's meaning to be found in a stagnant life" and executes that PERFECTLY. I've heard a lot of people hate it, but thankfully, I haven't come across much of that and I hope to keep it that way. I knew Jax was going to get a lot of screen time here, but I'm glad everyone else had roles to play as well.
The ONLY criticism I have is that Jax's abstraction just happened too suddenly for me to process. One scene he was there trying to talk to Pomni before changing his mind, then it cuts to his abstracted form running around. Jax abstracting was literally the only spoiler I got before watching, but I already figured it would happen. What I DIDN'T know would happen was the fact that it happened so early, that one caught me by surprise a lot.
Other than that, everything else was ABSOLUTE CINEMA. We FINALLY got Ribbit and Kaufmo in the flesh! Also Jax's whole arc coming to a close was heartfelt. I'm also glad Caine didn't die and was instead sent to the void. His redemption did feel a little random at first, but I'm realizing it was because he separated himself from the blue orb. Finally, all their real names and SOMA theory being real was a LOT to process. It was perfect, coming from someone who didn't particularly like that theory.
Overall, while this wasn't the BEST episode in the series as some might argue so, it was a perfect, conclusive ending imo. 3 years of following this show...and now I can't wait to see it again on YouTube once it releases!
