PSA: Consider clearing Ruins , Main Encampments and Blacksmith villages when the boss there is RED
I cant explain enough how rewarding red bosses in these POI's are. First of all they all guarentee a red weapon drop no matter how hard or easy the boss is. This makes them a incredibly good way of getting good weapons and weapon passives.
They also give 1,6x or 2x runes depending on the boss. What this means is almost all of them give more runes then a regular field boss while some of them like blacksmith village red bosses give runes close to a formidable boss like a tree sentinel.
They also give a B tier passive option at the last slot of the dormant power which includes passives like increased max hp/fp/stamina, improved sorceries/incants , physical/affinity attack up etc. These passives are usually more valuable then the S tier passives formidable field bosses drop which are mostly things like Guard counter summons x, Sudden enemy death, walking related passives etc. Which means even when you dont get a useful weapon passive from these POI's you will have the option get a passive that probably works for your character and doesnt take inventory space.
There are some POI's that you shouldnt prioritize even when the boss is red. Like Zamor frost ruins , Lightning Main Encampments that have leyndell knights and erdtree burial dog ruins because they take took much time while giving the same dormant power rewards. Rune rewards are good at those POI's but runes arent that important.
I highly recommend blacksmith villages that arent the roaming boss variant even when they arent red. They are easy, give a lot of runes and have 4 chests that can drop legendaries/purple smithing stones.
Im not saying you should only clear these POI's and skip field bosses. What Im saying is kill red bosses in these POI's when you are moving between field bosses. This way you will lose less time from traveling and get more loot overall.
Extra info: Please also kill red thrash mobs that are on your way. They drop blue sometimes red weapons with 2 passives. They also give 2x runes.
