How to play DayZ with kbm???

When i try to disconnect the controller midgame a screen pop ups that says"you need a controller for this game".When i try to start the game with kbm connected to my XBOX i just get stuck on the log in screen.I have enabled kbm in the game settings.Does anyone know how to play Dayz with kbm?
