I have been a huge fan of Hiphop Tamizha since his first album and I am still a fan. What started as banger after banger albums has now become mid after mid. The songs are still enjoyable for me because I am a fan, but for neutral listeners, they might come across as average. It feels like he is putting much less effort into his music now.

Just look at albums like Thani Oruvan, Imaikkaa Nodigal and Kavan and compare them with PT Sir and Anbarivu. There is a noticeable difference. Sai Abhyankkar is now delivering great songs, getting all the fame and is even being compared with Anirudh. HHT was once on par with Anirudh when it came to delivering banger soundtracks.

He took a break to pursue his PhD and I expected him to come back with a huge album. Instead, I was left feeling severely sad, not disappointed. He is doing so many things in parallel, including documentaries, uplifting independent artists, writing books, research, movie direction and more.

He has always been known primarily for his music and that is the area where it feels like he is being complacent now. His acting career is continuing in the same way, but I feel he needs to focus more on music.

The Meesaya Murukku 2 songs released so far are good to me as a fan. I cannot see them as bad, but for most people, they seem mid at best.

Do you think Hiphop Tamizha will ever return to his prime form and start making bangers again?

Will he ever come back to his prime?
