Beast mode in NG+

What is your thought on beast mode in NG+ ? I never tried it before NG+ (didn't know it existed) and I felt a bit underwhelmed on the damage side. Is it just a git gud problem ? (tbf daggers are my worst weapon and seems the closest one)
