Over a year of waiting on a preorder and terrible customer service- advice?
I pre-ordered a fairphone through Murena about a year ago, it's for the new model I think. I'm in the US so you have to use a third party and this is the major one. Posting here since their sub is dead and if it's run by the same person I've been communicating with I'm just asking for a refund.
There was very poor communication over the process or who was handling what. Is fairphone who I am buying from? Murena? Who is Hiroh?
Regardless I have a lot of appreciation for these products so I was willing to wait, even as my own current phone continued to die thanks to battery issues. And of course increasing it's AI, surveillance, and cover installation of BS apps.
Anyways several months ago they finally emailed me with their second delay update and a coupon. I started emailing them asking for help and I mean..in the most basic way possible. Just hey looking for updates, I'm kind of confused, thanks.
Their rep began responding to me with total irritation as if I was the problem here. That basically I should be happy they even send me a coupon while never giving me updates. More delays, more nonresponses.
So I email again this month, now basically a year later, in the same email thread we've been using. They once again act irritated and as if they have never spoken with me and have no context. I literally just screenshotted our earlier conversation and said I'm referring to this situation, just looking for an update.
They respond chastising me for "not providing enough context", no updates, no apologies, no thank you, and that they are waiting on Hiroh.
I want to ask for a refund immediately but I also do need a new phone and I refuse to go through the shit big three options we have in the US and of course I need a smartphone for work.
What's the next best option? Maybe go with an in-stock refurbished item? I just really don't want to use Murena at all.
