Need Advice

Hi everyone! I just wanted to come on here for opinions and advice. I’ve been heavily debating on whether or not I should get a gaming laptop that costs around 1k. I want it for the Sims 4 and only the Sims 4. I will also add that I own an Xbox and also have the Sims 4 there, but with a good amount of expansion packs as well. From my understanding you cannot switch over any expansions packs from your Xbox to laptop or PC, so it makes me think would it even be worth it? I want it solely for the mods to decorate and have a completely different gameplay experience. My boyfriend made it a good point that I can do a lot of other things with said laptop, but I do feel like it’s a big spend. I’m not one to spend money on myself often so making this decision has been very difficult.
