I made a platform focused on art interpretations instead of reactions

Product Launch 🚀

Have you ever experienced a song, movie, book, or piece of art in a way that felt completely different from everyone else's interpretation?

For example, I've always felt that Audioslave's "Like a Stone" isn't just about loss or loneliness. To me, it sounds like someone waiting impatiently for Judgment Day, longing for an answer that only God can give, unable to fully engage with life while waiting for that final moment (was I good or bad?).

That's what I love about art: two people can consume the exact same thing and walk away with entirely different meanings. Sometimes another person's interpretation can completely change how you see a work. Sometimes it even helps you understand your own life a little better.

I built a small project called "Interpretations" around this idea.

The goal is simple: share thoughtful interpretations of songs, videos, books, movie scenes, poems, and other art forms. Other people can add supporting media, references, or perspectives that deepen the discussion.

One thing I found frustrating on many platforms is that meaningful interpretation often gets buried under comments like:

  • "Great song"
  • "This reminds me of my ex"
  • "Underrated masterpiece"

So the site uses AI moderation to filter out low-effort reactions and keep the focus on actual analysis, symbolism, themes, and personal interpretations.

A neat feature: if you have a YouTube link, you can replace youtube.com with intrpretations.vercel.app and instantly create a discussion page for that piece of content.

I'd genuinely love feedback from people who enjoy digging into the meaning behind art. What do you think? Would you use something like this?
