CANT read the Count of Monte Cristo

So i just started Count of Monte Cristo, it is my second book.

My first read was 1984 and i loved it. So many ppl recommended me COMC BUT i’m just not able to read it 💔

noone told me it was french bro. the names are so hard and big bro, it makes the whole text so complex for me..
and the grammar is hard too, i have to have a dictionary in my hand with each sentence cuz a random new word comes.. 😭😭

my english aint even that bad.. It’s C1.
did anyone face anything like this?

wtf do i do, i wanna read it so bad but i cant lol
