When is it time to focus on gear farming?

Guys by now I have a few 6 star champs. My biggest set back may very well be gear. When do I start to see those god tier artifacts drop? Is it after I unlock Cursed City and Grim Forest? I want to grind better gear for my Ninja and some others but just don't really know how to best and when to go about it.
