If giving up searching for work is an option for you - THEN JUST GIVE UP.
Daily there is a sub with someone complaining about the current market and that they're thinking of just giving up searching.
Yes- the market sucks really hard. So hard that if I had any family left- anyone that could take me in and put a roof over my head so I could study or do something else for a while I 100% would.
Daily when these posts come up there are invariably some folks who come in trying to cheer you on- Don't give up they say. Keep trying! ummmmm. Why???? It's not even baseline intelligent. If you have the option to give up then you could use the time so much more productively for study or projects or a bunch of other things than by spending all day and night applying for jobs that barely pay because employers know they can get away with it in this market.
Unfortunately for me I have no family left and I'm on my own. Giving up for me is not an option in the least. If I don't find something within 3 months I will literally starve. So I have no choice but to be one of the unfortunate ones that cannot give up.
If you're so bummed that you're "thinking of giving up" - stop thinking about it already and do it. Seriously. Use the time that you're lucky enough to be able to give up on more productively. I wish I had the luxury to think of giving up and to even post about how I'm thinking about doing it all the time.
