Hi all

Just looking for advice and thoughts on the bed frame I have installed.

Components:

Van Rib attached to 2x4x6 Home Depot standard lumber using 5x M10 Rivnuts and 5x M10x50mm Bolts on both sides. Also used blue threadlock. Was so stressed about lining up the holes that I forgot the sill gasket buffer but whatever…

3x Ikea Skorva brackets each side, attached to the lumber using 3x M5x30mm bolts each. The bolt heads sit in recessed pockets on the metal side, with a washer. On the exposed side there is another washer and a nylon nut.

3x Skorva beams as pictured (thank god it lined up). Today I am getting some plywood and will cut ventilation holes and will lay that out on the beams and will keep it fixed to the beams with some heavy duty hook and loop velcro maybe.

1x4 Cedar as vertical supports. I was going to bolt them to the vertical rib too but by the time i cut it and wedged it in there, it fits so snug it doesn’t want to come out without great force. I don’t want to leave it loose like that (I plan to use it as a batten for the walls in the garage space later), but will it aid in the vertical support of this bed frame whilst it is wedged in there?

I will finish the trim and the fancy work another time, but I want to test it out first. Is it normal to have an enormous sense of dread that everything is going to rip out and fall down? It needs to hold 2x people, about 90kg each.

Thanks for any reassurance/demoralisation 😅

Thoughts on my first try!
