how to get in contact with real estate agencies

Hello,

I’m a French student who will be coming to Catania on a university exchange program next year; I’m looking for a place to live, but I was wondering if you had any tips:

I’ve found a lot of apartments that interest me in online listings (mainly on the website of the SoloAffiti agency in Catania), I’ve sent lots of messages and emails but haven’t received any replies. I’ve made many calls, but most of the numbers don’t answer and never call me back, and the few real estate agents who do answer just hang up on me (even though I’m trying my best to speak Italian correctly as I have some basic knowledge)

Do you know how to get out of this situation? I literally can’t get in touch with anyone.

Thank you very much for your responses.
