Guys who couldn’t move on from a fling, what was going through your head?

(24F) am curious about the male perspective on this.

The first guy wasn’t even an ex. We had a fling around 4 years ago and I was actually the one who called it off because we just weren’t clicking and were very different from each other. There was no huge fight or dramatic ending. Since then, I’d randomly see him pop up in my profile views from time to time over the years, all the way up to the present day. I never thought much of it until I found out from a mutual friend that he’d been in a relationship for most of that time. So he was apparently checking my profile while having a girlfriend.

Another guy I had a situationship with ended things badly with me about 2 years ago. Since he’s blocked, I’d occasionally come across emails he sent sitting in my spam folder. Recently, he even made new social media accounts to send message requests and contact me again. I just keep blocking them.

I’m not looking for advice cause I literally just keep blocking and ignoring. I’m happy in my current relationship but I an genuinely curious about the mindset from a guy’s perspective. Is it usually lingering feelings, ego, regret, curiosity, boredom, lack of closure, or something else?
