Does anyone here talk about anything other than relationships?

:discuss: Discussion

After coming back to Reddit, I discovered this new species called r/TwentiesIndia. Thought I'd spend some time observing them, expecting discussions about careers, ambitions, travelling, building stuff, figuring life out and all that.

What I found instead was basically a digital dukhi aatma convention.

Every other post is some variation of:

"i can't find love"

"she left me"

"i'm 24, should i get married?"

"i'm 27 and never had a relationship, am i cooked?"

"everyone around me is dating except me"

At some point it feels like you're reading the same post over and over again with different usernames.

The whole sub seems stuck in an endless cycle of loneliness, relationship anxiety and people convincing each other that life is already over before they've even hit 30. Very little discussion about actually doing something with your life, taking risks, building skills, or chasing goals.

Sorry to say this, but I've never seen nihilism this strong in a community full of young people. Feels less like a subreddit for people in their twenties and more like a waiting room where everyone has collectively decided nothing good is ever going to happen.

Absolute khatam crowd. Pure trauma-porn consumption at this point.
