Detroit loses legal challenge to Census population count
A federal judge has ruled against the city of Detroit's latest challenge to the U.S. Census in an order released Wednesday morning.
U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Leitman denied the claim that a Census Bureau method relying on county population estimates to help determine the city's population results in undercounting the number of people who live in Detroit.
The city maintains Detroit's population is still being undercounted by the . county rule by more than 28,000 residents
