Is it normal to get charged X-ray fees twice before and after a tooth implant?
Hi
My parent just went to have their tooth plucked. I think it is normal to do an xray before that so that’s fine. The process was a disaster that required a second visit later in the day cos the first dentist wasn’t skilled enough and caused alot of pain to my parent during the process so they called in a more experienced dentist..
The second dentist plucked up the remnant tooth “roots” and did the tooth implant before proceeding with another xray because they explained it was needed as proof (to MOH I assume? Sorry I wasn’t there when this happened so could only rely on my parent’s statement) since Medisave was gonna be used for the implant.
So in total two X-rays were conducted and charged.. To people who have had a tooth implant/similar experiences and even dentists out here, just want to know if this is a normal practice? If the clinic needed proof that they indeed conducted a tooth implant to claim for Medisave, is it normal for the proof of burden (via paying for the second xray) to fall on the patient?
