Career options after passing all 4 CPA exams
Hi everyone,
I recently passed all 4 CPA exam sections and am trying to think through the best career paths from here.
A bit about my background:
- Columbia Business School MBA
- ~5 years of experience at a Fortune 500 technology company
- Finance / FP&A background
I'm now trying to decide whether the next step should be:
- Transaction advisory / restructuring
- Valuation or corporate development
- Something more entrepreneurial
For those who have earned the CPA after already having several years of professional experience, what opportunities did it unlock for you?
Looking back, what career path do you think offered the best combination of compensation, growth, interesting work, and long-term optionality?
I'd appreciate any advice or personal experiences.
