Surgical Tech to Nursing?

Admissions / transferring

TL;DR: I am new in the country. ST trained in the field back in my country. Currently attending the ST program in the US. For those who transitioned to RN: What are you guys doing as RN? CNOR? RNFA? GIVE ME THE TEA?!

Hey guys! I am a foreigner in the US. Back in my country, I started as your version of LPN, then a “sales” rep. Different than here, there I was allowed to scrub into our cases. I was trained in the field. The “LPN” was my way to figure out if I wanted to become a nurse one day (I was 17 when I started the class). I hated impatient services and found myself in the OR. Back there in the OR tho, the “LPN” circulates and nurses are the “charge ones” that we have here (and they’d show up for us for foleys and time out for example).

Fast forward to now, I am in the US, finished all pre-reqs and currently doing the ST program.

I keep seeing posts about transitioning to RN. For those who did, why did you change it? Where are you at professionally today? What is your goal?

I feel like here I’ve been learning the processes as I go because everything is so different. So I am very curious about your guys' perspective, as you guys know the healthcare system here better.
