Can I read Dan Watters Nightwing without Taylor's Run?

So I'm picking up Taylor's run in omnibus format later this year, and then I'll read it. But I already have the trades of Watters' run here. So my question is: Do I need to know any important things from Taylor's run before reading Watters' Nightwing, or can I read his run without any problems and then get back to Taylor?
