Please don’t make fun of me, I’m doing my best.
I rescued my gecko approx a week and a half ago. She was living in a not great situation and I really wanted to help her and I was able to. However, I have zero reptile experience so I’ve been reading consistently and following the advice of people who seem to know more than I. My dilemma is this. I have been trying to get her used to my scent and she is surprisingly quite interested in me and comes out a lot. I hold my hand out for her and when she begins to walk toward it I panic. I am scared of her, scared she will bite or I will do something wrong and she will drop her tail. How do I get myself over this fear of handling her? I’m just scared she’ll bite out of fear or run off me. I know this probably sounds ridiculous but I am scared of a small lizard.
