Why I'm Taking a Break from Pax Historia
Hey everyone,
I've been feeling pretty burned out with Pax Historia lately, so I've decided to take a break for about 2–3 months.
I've played most of the major presets by now, and some of my absolute favorites were the Clone Wars preset and 2026 Detailed & More. I had a lot of fun with them, but after hundreds of hours, I've reached a point where the game just doesn't feel challenging anymore.
Even on Impossible difficulty, I usually end up winning. It often feels like the AI isn't able to keep up or doesn't put enough pressure on the player. Because of that, many campaigns start to feel predictable.
Interestingly, this happened before. I stopped playing around December and came back in February. The break helped a lot because there were new features, improvements, and some really great new presets waiting for me. The game felt fresh again, and I had a lot of fun.
So I'm hoping the same thing happens this time. I'll probably come back in a few months and see what's new. Hopefully there will be some fresh content, new mechanics, and maybe even more challenging presets to try.
Thanks to all the preset creators and developers for the work you've put into the game. This isn't a goodbye. I just think it's time for a break.
See you all in a few months 👋
