Apple Live Photo Dilemma

Hey Guys, first time posting.
I'm having trouble while downlowding pictures from icloud on my hard drive. The Problem is that many many photos in the cloud are saved with live photo. When downlowding these photos, they are turning into videos on my hdd. I just want the main picture that is beinh displayed on icloud. My question now, can i somehow turn all my live photos into the stock picture at once. Or is there any other way that these are just turning into Jpegs or idk i just dont want to go set these photos to stock one by one.
Am i screwed ?
