Recently Broke Up with Someone I dated for 2 + years, Need to Vent And get things off my chest
As title states, I recently was dumped by girlfriend of 2 + years out of the blue. This was in early May. She clearly has characteristics of someone who plays the victim mentality, because she said she was checked out months ago. Said I couldn't love her the way she needed, that I wasn't the right person for her, etc etc.
Here's all the kickers:
- She had communication issues. If she brought something up and we talked about it, she would always say I was being mean about it. She definitely shut down and avoided conflict. The topic would never be brought up again. She said she had issues for months and was unhappy, but never said what was really bothering me. Giving me a chance to fix it.
- I had hormonal issues with Test dropping due to being almost 40. At the same time, things in that side of the relationship took a turn to the south due to my issues. I had no sex drive, wasn't interested. Etc. She took it as i was uninterested. So she stopped initiating. Period. Left it all on me. Nothing makes a guy feel worse than feeling unwanted. So energy is reciprocal, she didn't do anything, i didn't do anything. That's selfish on her part expecting it from me.
- She's a dedicated gym junkie. Woke up at 3am, went to the gym til 7, left for work at 8, back to the gym after work, then all the time we had during week days was dinner and maybe an hour after until she's falling asleep on the couch. Was like I had a roommate during the week, and weekends we were always so busy that we never really had a lot of alone time unless we went on vacation. Complained about lack of affection, but she's literally asleep an hour after getting home in the evenings. I'd still hold her while we slept, while she was on the couch, etc. Ties into the whole thing about not loving her the way she needed.
- She started talking to someone brand new "right after we split". And within a month, said guy is already at her new place staying. And she's already sleeping with him. Said guy is someone she knows from the gym during that early workout time, she already had the pieces set in motion and was ready to just end it and go to him. She says that's not the case. That she didn't leave me for another man. Bullshit.
- Guy above was the dude she brought to help her move out. First time, she said "Nothing's going on with this guy". " Dont worry". Red flag! I mean come on? Really? That's just disrespectful. You had him come over three times to help you move.
- She always hated that I had social media and always compared herself to them. She never liked how she looked, always complained about being fat, her loose skin, that she wasn't pretty, etc. She would never take a compliment or believe it because she always believed i wanted the people on social media and not her. Even if i reassured her. That i moved here for her, im here present for you every day, so on.
- Offered to even delete social media, but she wouldn't let me because it didn't fix the root of the issues. What? You don't want to compare yourself to people who are my SM, and i offer to fix it, and you still give me shit?
- I made a list of things to work on, and she'd rather just leave and think everything is greener on the other side. Wouldn't even have given me the chance to do so. She'd rather just leave and do her thing. Said she needed to "heal and fix herself". Yeah, by jumping on someone else apparently lol.
- Said I never showed her enough love, but did random things for her all the time. Random hugs, random gifts like flowers, new workout gear, new shoes for the gym, took her out to experience new things like ziplining or traveling somewhere, etc.
I know I made some mistakes, no one is perfect. But the lack of communication and not actually letting me fix things, like the social media deletion, just speaks volumes about her and her lack of emotional availability. She just would keep shit in and never say anything about it. Yet it's my fault for not knowing what's wrong? Not a mind reader.
These are just some of the things. It's just a lot of finger pointing and blaming me for a lot of things she needs to work on. But the more i talk about it with people, seems like i truly dodged a bullet and got dumped by someone who definitely isn't right for me. Still sucks and it hurts.
Im sure others have experienced similar things, just needed to get this out there and get it off my chest as the anxiety can be crippling. I know i deserve better, and will find better.
