The whole "AI Poisoning" campaign and why it needs to stop
Look, I know people online are treating data poisoning like it’s just some harmless, edgy digital protest, but it is a literal cyberattack. Major security agencies like NIST and companies like CrowdStrike officially classify it as Adversarial Machine Learning.
You don't have to be a hoodie-wearing hacker typing green code on a black screen to break federal law. Under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, if you intentionally flood a server with garbage information to damage or screw up how it functions, that is legally treated exactly like deploying malware or a virus.
The scariest part isn't even jail time, it’s the money. If a company has to spend half a million dollars paying engineers to scrub their servers and rebuild a model because of a coordinated poisoning campaign, civil conspiracy laws mean they can sue ANYONE they catch for the ENTIRE amount. They don't just sue you for the three or four bad inputs you personally made, they make a public example out of whoever they can unmask. You’re leaving digital footprints and server logs every time you do it.
It is an insanely steep slippery slope, and it's just not worth ruining your life over an internet trend.
