What is your opinion on FPS?
My opinion is this:
-
30 FPS: Bare minimum acceptable frame rate for all games
-
60 FPS: The standard that developers of most games should strive towards
-
120 FPS: A good "maximum" frame rate for most games
-
150 FPS: Suitable for very fast-paced "twitch shooter"/first-person-shooter games, probably unnecessary and overkill everywhere else
-
180 FPS: This is generally where the "high end" of competitive "twitch shooter"/first-person-shooter players are. Extremely overkill in every other type of game.
200+ FPS: The realm of bragging rights and not much else. Yes, in most cases, "more FPS = better", but there are diminishing returns here. Extremely high FPS by itself isn't going to magically make you better at gaming.
