Stance on having kids?
One of the things I find to be the trickiest when it comes to my personal dating life is the fact that I never want to have children. I find that men commonly do want to have them because the overall stakes for them are lower. At my job, I will see families with 3+ kids in tow and mom is always entirely responsible for wrangling them all while dad just stands there, and it’s completely socially acceptable. On top of that, to reproduce, men HAVE to orgasm whereas women not only don’t have to, but we also have to go through a period of disability, immense pain, and bodily changes. On top of on top of that, I can’t imagine going through all of that to bring another person in this world when I know how difficult my own upbringing was and what I had to resort to, to soothe myself.
Imagining the lifestyle makes me feel more trapped than I already am. I’m curious to know how others in this sub feel about having children.
