Moving to Monterrey, Mexico for 2 semesters, any advice?

I’m 19 and I’ll be moving to Monterrey, Mexico for two semesters as an exchange student. It’ll be my first time living alone and also my first time living in another country, so I’m both excited and a little nervous

I was wondering if anyone has experience living in Monterrey or moving abroad at a young age. What were the biggest challenges for you? Was it difficult making friends, adapting to a new culture, managing finances, or dealing with homesickness?

I also speak Spanish, but it’s not my first language, so I’d love to hear if there are any language barriers or cultural differences I should be aware of.
