MacBook Air M3 Reliability? Mine Turned Into a ₹70,000 Repair Nightmare
My MacBook Air M3 has been one of the most disappointing tech purchases I’ve made.
I bought it in 2024, treated it carefully, never dropped it, and there is no visible external damage. The laptop was used normally and never subjected to any obvious incident that would make me expect a major hardware failure.
Now, barely a couple of years later, I’m being told that there is corrosion-related damage and that the repair could cost ₹60,000–₹70,000. That’s an astonishing amount for a laptop that originally cost around ₹1 lakh.
What frustrates me most is that modern MacBooks are marketed as premium, durable machines, yet a single internal failure can apparently result in repair costs that are a huge percentage of the device’s original price and that not even under user’s control. At that point, you’re almost being pushed toward buying another laptop instead of repairing the one you already own.
I expected reliability, longevity, and repairability from a premium device. Instead, I’m looking at a repair bill that feels completely disconnected from what most customers would consider reasonable.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with a MacBook Air M3 or recent Apple laptops?
PS: Not trusting any Macbook again !
