Fear of bootloop issue in 7a
Hi everyone,
I've been using a Pixel 7a as my primary phone since 2024. I'm 18 and currently financially dependent on my family, so replacing my phone isn't something I can easily do.
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of reports about Pixel devices experiencing memory corruption, bootloops, and other serious issues after recent updates, especially since the April update. It's making me a bit nervous about my own device. So far, I haven't experienced any random restarts, crashes, or bootloop symptoms, but I have noticed that my battery life has dropped significantly—from around 6 hours of screen-on time to about 4 hours.
I'm wondering:
Is there any temporary fix or precaution I can take?
Is it possible to safely roll back to an older update?
Has Google identified the cause of these issues yet?
Are there any warning signs I should watch out for?
Has anyone here experienced memory corruption or bootloop problems on their Pixel 7a?
If my phone dies, my dad will probably replace it with something budget-oriented like an OPPO F17 or a cheap used OnePlus, so I'd really like to keep this phone running for as long as possible.
I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences, any technical explanations, or tips on how to reduce the risk of these issues.
Thanks!
