What is it about the old heads that makes people HATE the remake era?

As someone that is a newer fan that has played both remake, rebirth and a half of the og, imo the hate for the “remake series” is a little overblown, sure it doesnt have to be everyone’s cup of tea and there are DEFINITELY issues with them, I do not see the whole “it ruined the original”. Idk maybe I’m just falling for rage bait but idk its not that deep in my eyes. I see the series as a sequel-ish but with a retelling aspect to it, where >! Sephiroth and Aerith are aware they are in a retelling< . But other than that I just dont see the changes being THAT offensive, on a whole it is largely the same-ish just recontextualisations and stuff. Idk does anyone else feel this or am I just weird because I’m newer.
