I’ve been having a somewhat frustrating issue popping up over the last few months that I can only describe as some sort of GPS positioning error.

Google Maps thinks that I’m taking the exit despite being in the middle or left lane causing it to re route constantly. It otherwise has no visual display issues.

Waze typically does a good job masking this likely do to its unique algorithm, but I’ve caught it placing the arrow off the road or leaving the arrow (and camera) behind while the navigation line is changing color at the proper location sometimes miles down the route. It really gets caught up on right turns such as exit clovers. Sometimes it will show the arrow 50’ to the right of the ruck (as seen in the photo)

The weird thing with Waze is that if I swap to maps and then back to Waze it will snap back to the right position and continue like nothing happened. Only for it to occur again sometimes later.

Because this typically occurs in the middle of a hour long drive, i know the dealer is going to give me the runaround saying that it’s working as intended. But given that i haven’t seen mention of it on here i have to imagine this is in fact not normal.

While I don’t have the precise software version on hand right now, the truck was recently updated at the dealer to address an open recall. So I have to imagine it’s reasonably up to date. I wanted to get that done and give it another week before doing anything more.
