2019 Trax LT Blower Motor Issues
So my blower motor was not turning on sometimes when I started the car and then it would kick in eventually. As long as the car stayed running it stayed on. Then it stopped kicking in on its own. This was my exes car before and she assured me all regular maintenance had been done so I hadn’t checked the cabin filter. Finally checked it had a nest in it. Replaced that and cleaned everything out and blower started working again for a week or so then problems resumed. Next time it didn’t kick on I turned the switch off, took the filter out and spun the wheel to make sure nothing was stuck. Put everything back and turned the knob and it kicked right on. This process would get it going every day for a week or so, then this stopped. So I started with the wiring stuff, inspected the pigtail and resistor and neither had any signs of burning or melting, but I replaced the resistor just to be safe. Checked all the fuses and relays and everything is good, still nothing. So I broke down and did the nightmare job of replacing the blower motor. Still doesn’t work now despite having a new motor and resistor and all connections being secure.
Any suggestions of what to check next?
