looking for some advice on my music streaming / substack tool (no sideload)
hello lightphoners
i released a tool earlier this year that allows you to stream soundcloud (likes feed) and bandcamp (purchased collection feed) via the podcast tool using a live-encoded RSS bridge (has been great for having dj mixes to-hand when going for runs etc!)
it also allows you to have your substack reads auto-update via the notes app
it was kindly reviewed by u/jbriones95 and is still up and running for a few active users
because the live stream-encoding is quite server intensive im not sure I can keep up with the server costs for much longer and wanted to ask what I should do with it/ if it is useful to keep it alive?
possible options in my mind:
- decomission it and submit/ repackage either one of these features later via the developer program
- keep it running but remove the paywall and make it donation only
- decomission it and make all the code available on github
- all of the above?
any advise/ feedback would be much appreciated!
if anyone wants to try it out let me know / can share a free access code
