Should I also get flywheel done?? Plz help

Pre-lci e90, 316i, N45B16 engine, 218,000km/135,000miles.

Hey guys,

I’m getting the gearbox replaced in my car tomorrow, I’m also getting the clutch kit done.

My question is should I also get the flywheel done?

Over winter I was experiencing this loud spring noise when aggressively pressing/holding the clutch down, it was not constant. In warmer months I don’t experience it at all unless I try to force it by being really aggressively holding the clutch in, which still would only occasionally happen if trying to force.

The guy doing my gearbox+clutch kit recommended doing the flywheel to prevent this but he also said it’d cost €600 extra to do flywheel, I’m already looking at a €1,100 bill without the flywheel.

I went home and looked online and it says that the spring noise would rarely be caused by flywheel, said it’d be many other stuff instead of flywheel.

What would you guys do? Any advice is very much appreciated.
