Backrooms review
writing this review a few days after watching it cuz i had to process everything.
coming out of the cinema I was lowkey underwhelmed because its not exactly what i expected. I wanted a movie about a guy running around in the backroom getting chased by entities but that only happened for like 10% of the film.
I was going to rate it about 3 stars but over the few days, I have come to realisation that this movie is actually a hidden woke, slow burn romance, height difference, self-cest, toxic doomed yaoi, and anti-polycule propaganda.
The whole movie was a build up for clark x captain clark romance. Even though it wasnt shown on #screen, i believe, no i know that clark and captain clark explored each other bodies in there (backrooms).
The movie shows and explores the topic of miscommunications in relationships as it has happened twice (maybe thrice) in the movie: between clark and his ex wife, and clark and captain clark. Its is a prime example on how miscommunication can "kill" relationship. When capt clark barge into the room to see clark and mary sitting close to each other in a dimly lit room, its understandable that anyone with disorders (presumably bipolar) would act out that way.
if only they had communicated better this all wouldn't happened.
In this age of people having short attention span, this kind of movie with hidden agendas is really what we need. kudos to kane pixel as he is the director that is only 20 years old.
