DIY Gel Press Ons (Overwhelmed by it all)
I'm looking to make my own gel press ons, but frankly I am overwhelmed by the info out there. I used to do my own gel nails with Amazon kits and of course this was before gel allergies were a thing I had any knowledge of. I had some itchy spells when things weren't curing properly, but since then have used things like Le Mini Macaron (absolutely zero issues) and have gone to a salon to get gel nails done the last couple of months. (Twice I had swollen fingers, that happened the morning after and then completely disappeared, it was very very minor and at the time I figured they were just irritated from filing, but who knows!) Again, didn't really understand gel allergies until recently.
I just can't justify salon prices because I want to do fun nails, and I'm an artist and have done nail art in the past, so I'd like to do them myself and feel like creating my own press ons is the safest option!
But it seems like every HEMA free & TPO free bundle is just wildly expensive or doesn't really give good base colors to start with. Or they all just seem sketchy. Is it really necessary to be this cautious if I just plan on curing before adhering to my nails? I just don't know where to start and kind of don't want to spend a million dollars! I'm okay putting a decent chunk down to get started, but I don't want to spend hundreds on five colors haha. I need recommendations for brands/how to start!
TLDR; want to make gel press ons safely, but not sure if I really need to be so cautious for something not applied directly to my nail. Looking for brand recs!
