I need advice!!

I'm currently getting my master's degree in higher education administration but I'm also interested in becoming an adjunct professor. I got my bachelor's degree in sociology, which is the subject I'm interested in teaching. My question is what did you all do to become adjunct professors as far as education? Did you have to get a PhD? In other words, how did you become an adjunct professor and what advice would you give someone like me who is new in the education field?
