Solder doesn't melt. What am I doing wrong?
I haven't soldered in decades, and even then it was minimal... so I am VERY sorry for how stupid the answer is likely to be.
I have watched a handful of tutorials and it SEEMS the basics are easy; Warm up the iron, setup board and pins on a helpful hands, apply iron to opposite side of solder and a few seconds later, TADA!
But of course, nothing is happening. The solder will melt when held against the iron (I'm not a complete idiot, it's def on) but I have held the iron against some pins for 15+ seconds and no melting.
So.... wtf am I doing wrong?
Thank you (and feel free to point and laugh)
