My bf (now ex) broke up with me right after two consecutive perfect dates since he could not do long distance.
I met this guy naturally through a social event. He chased me, asked me out and eventually we become offical. We were long distance mostly (6-7months) but met up atleast once or twice a month. This month he came to visit and we had a blast like always. He kissed me, held me, told me he loved me, gave me flowers.( I reciprocated and paid for meals and also gave him gifts) The next day we met up again. Same thing, everything went perfect. By the end of the date he asked my opinion on ldr, i told him I was okay and committed to it since I loved him dearly. He explained how he wanted someone who was more physically near and could not do long distance since he wanted something "physical". I gave him the final say...he said he wanted to end it. I was so heartbroken I rushed out crying since we were in a public space. I texted him back to sort it out (he texted first to ask if I reached home safely) but he just said he was sorry and immature and was firm on ending it. This is the first guy I've truly ever loved. I got so attached to him. Why would he just end it like that? Especially if he was love bombing me 5 minutes before the conversation happened. This has broken me up so pathetically. An hour before the break up he even insisted on buying me birthday gifts which was coming up the following weeks, I ended up leaving all the gifts behind as I left crying. He always said love was all about commitment and the distance never bothers him cause he loves me and i believed him. I feel so shitty.
Is this a canon life event before University and also is it pathetic of me to still want him? Please also hand out any advice and tips on how to move on. (I do not want to engage in any other relationship, I've given up on love).
