How can Web3 games build communities that last beyond rewards and incentives?
One thing I've been wondering about is whether Web3 games can build the same kind of long-term communities that traditional online games have built over the years.
A lot of Web3 projects attract early attention through tokens, NFTs, and earning opportunities. But once that initial excitement fades, what actually keeps players around? It seems that more developers are now focusing on gameplay, social interaction, and community-building rather than relying only on rewards.
Many traditional games have kept players engaged for years through competition, cooperation, shared experiences, and strong communities. I'm curious whether Web3 games can achieve something similar while still benefiting from blockchain technology.
Do you think strong communities will become the main driver of Web3 gaming success, or will rewards and incentives always be the biggest factor?
