Found a very tiny roach indoors (bedroom), a little smaller than a sunflower seed, bright golden with mildly translucent wings, no visable distinguishable markings (Florida)
Location: West Central Florida
Already ruled out German, Asian, palmetto, and banana. (Very positive it's not a beetle but I am open to suggestions.)
Released before I was able to capture any photos and my camera quality is y2k flip-phone quality anyways.
I've never seen anything like it before and it doesn't appear to be any known native roach. I suspect tawny wood roach (Ectobius pallidus) though they are not native and photos I've seen have made them appear a bit larger than the size I have listed.
It is the tiniest adult roach I have ever seen. (I assume adult because it has fully developed wings capable of flight.)
I have not left the states nor have any of my roomates so I don't think it could have hitched a ride inside that way.
Windows are VERY poorly sealed so all kinds of crawlies get in, I've just never seen a roach like this before in all my years living here.
Any suggestions?
