Is it possible that different grocery stores have higher quality of the same items?

I usually shop at Kroger or Walmart, but my boyfriend lives near a Publix, and the quality of their items are far better than any other grocery store. I had bought a brand name protein bar in Publix, and I thought it was the beat thing ever, when I went back home and bought the same brand, same product in my local Kroger, it was nowhere near good. I noticed this is the same case with other same exact products in different stores, it seems like quality goes up depending on location and store. Am I just delusional or is it possible what I say is true?
